I and a friend decided to give Laylas of san marco a try on 5/18/2012 for a girls night out. Well to our dismay we found out the african americans are not welcome there. First we were overlooked as we stood in the door way for about 5 minutes. Once we were finally seated at a table that was not sturdy we were given a stern you cant sit there by a middle aged fellow. Who then NEVER asked for our drink order. After another 15 minutes of NO service we decided that our money could be spent somewhere else!!!! I have never experienced this type of racism and hope that other's wont have to!! Im appaled that my hard earned money obviously isnt good enough to spend in their establishment!!! and am making it a point to tell ALL of my coworkers, friends and family to tell their friends and family to NEVER EVER PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT!!! go to ISTANBUL GRILL ON SOUTHSIDE WAY BETTER SERVICE..

My sister and I had an excellent time at Layla's. We enjoyed a lovely flavored hookah (jasmine and rose) with a milk filter. We also had delicious food and enjoyed the relaxing ambience. The owner was very hospitable and even burned us a complimentary cd after we asked him the name of the artist that was playing. The staff was very friendly and I definitely look forward to going back! )
